Turkish miniature painting

The Turkish miniature was a form of Palace Art, which was developed in the 16th century. In these intricate paintings are realistically painted festivals, sports competitions, and Istanbul society. This art was greatly influenced by the multiple cultures that lived together under one rule, such as Christianity and Islam. Turkish miniature art is directly inspired by nature and is more or less a stylized

interpretation of the different branches of decorative Islam art. Levni was the last master of Turkish miniature painting. With him, the popularity and most of the delicacy and plastic perfection of the miniature paintings were lost. After the death of the Levni, a new school of Turkish art was formed that adopted the spirit, form, and technique of European painting.

At the approach of the 19th century, the Sultans of that time held great interest in Western paintings. Because of this, the once popular Miniature Art lost its value. Even the style of architecture changed to the European style of Baroque and Rococo. The Ottoman style of architecture was influenced by the Rococo style of France during the reign of Louis the 15th (1715-1774) and developed its own unique Ottoman style through this. Beylerbey, and Dolmabahce are famous big buildings built in the 19th century.
